Transitioning into adulthood
The Epic Win course is for older teens and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Aspergers Disorder (AD) designed to support them in developing skills that will be needed in the transition into adulthood.
We know from research that the challenges associated with ASD/AD persist and can be heightened during the transition into adulthood. This can negatively impact the acquisition of skills needed for success in adulthood. Without support, individuals may have challenges in getting and keeping employment, succeeding in college or university, making friends and having lasting relationships, and living independently. Some of these life challenges are associated with mental health risks, especially anxiety and depression.
This transition to adulthood empowerment program is offered to 17 to 24-year-olds with diagnoses, and the group will consist of 7 to 10 youths who are in high school or graduated and are looking for support in their transition to adulthood.
